Q: How do I care for my La Kwa candle?
Candle Care
Follow the tips below to help ensure optimal results when burning your La Kwa candles:
- Snap off or Trim the wick to ¼ inch each time before burning.
- Center and straighten the wick after blowing out your candle
- Burn candles in a well-ventilated room
- Keep the wax pool clear of wick trimmings, matches and debris
- Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents, fans or air currents
- Before re-lighting a candle, let the candle cool completely
- Burn regular sized candles for 3–4 hours at a time.
- Burn candles in an ambient of 65–75 degrees °F
- When burning multiple candles, place at least 8 inches apart.
- If a candle is burning unevenly and the wick is centered, it’s in a draft

Burn within sight. Keep away from flammable objects. Keep away from children and pets.

Q: How long does a candle-pouring experience last?
Sessions last about 1 hour, and candles require an additional 30 minutes to cool. Each guest creates a custom candle with support from the La Kwa team in our intimate, serene studio. Reservations are recommended; walk-ins are welcomed when space allows.
Q: What does a candle bar include?
Your experience includes:
- A reserved seat
- Your choice of vessel
- Your choice of fragrance
- Light hors d’oeuvres & refreshments
- A signature La Kwa mini match bottle
Q: What is your cancellation or refund policy?
We do not offer refunds for Candle Bar reservations. If you cannot attend, you may reschedule your session once when done at least 24 hours before your scheduled time through our self-service portal.
Q: Can I bring my own alcohol?
Yes, La Kwa is BYOB. Wine, beer, and seltzers are welcome. Glassware is provided. A small corkage fee may apply for private events.
Q: Can I bring food?
Outside food is not permitted during public workshops. Private events may coordinate catering with approval.
Q: Do you host private events?
Yes. La Kwa Candle Bar is ideal for birthdays, girls’ nights, corporate gatherings, wellness events, and intimate celebrations. Contact us for custom packages.
Q: Do you offer group discounts?
Group pricing is available for 12 or more guests. Please reach out for details.
Q: Are reservations required?
Reservations are highly recommended, our studio has limited seating and fills quickly.
Q: What if someone in my group doesn’t want to pour a candle?
Each reservation includes one seat and one candle. Guests may share the process, but additional seating is not guaranteed without a reservation.
Q: What is your merchandise return policy?
Candles poured during workshops cannot be refunded. Retail merchandise may be returned or exchanged within 14 days if unused and in original condition.
Q: What is the age requirement?
Participants must be 5 years or older. Anyone under 18 must have a guardian sign their waiver.
Q: Can I mix fragrances or bring my own vessel?
For safety and consistent candle performance, guests must select from La Kwa’s curated vessels and fragrances.
Q: How can I change my reservation?
You may reschedule once with at least 24 hours’ notice through our self-service portal.
Q: Can I take my candle home the same day?
Candles require 30 minutes to cure. You may pick them up the same day during business hours or have them shipped within the U.S. for a small fee.
Q: Will you hold my candle?
Yes, we will hold your candle for up to 30 days before donating unclaimed items.
Q: My candle arrived damaged. What should I do?
Please contact us. We are happy to repour and resend your candle.
Q: Can our group pay separately?
Yes, but each person will need to book individually. To ensure your group sits together, we recommend one group booking.
Q: Can we pay a group rate?
Yes. Group rates are available, please reach out for accommodations if they are not already listed on our website.
